Terms of service
General
These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the sale of the products offered on the website www.hushpuppies.be (the “Products”). Please read them carefully before placing an order: by ordering, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The website is operated by MANEXCO SA, a public limited company (société anonyme) under Belgian law, trading as Hush Puppies Belgium, distributor of the Hush Puppies brand in Belgium, with registered office at Avenue Thomas Edison 111, 1402 Nivelles, Belgium, registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number 0420.049.986 (VAT BE 0420.049.986) (hereinafter “Hush Puppies Belgium”). Any person placing an order on the website is referred to as the “Customer”.
These Terms apply to all offers, orders and sales agreements between Hush Puppies Belgium and the Customer. They are accepted by the Customer during the ordering process. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, no other terms and conditions apply. Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform.
Customers
To place an order, the Customer must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity. Hush Puppies Belgium sells to consumers only.
Product information
Hush Puppies Belgium makes every effort to present the Products, their colours and their characteristics as accurately as possible. Colours may nevertheless vary slightly depending on the screen used. Minor differences that do not affect the essential characteristics of a Product do not engage the liability of Hush Puppies Belgium.
Ordering process
The Customer’s order is an offer until Hush Puppies Belgium sends an order confirmation by e-mail, stating the order number and the Products ordered. The sale is concluded upon sending of this confirmation. Hush Puppies Belgium may refuse an order in case of unavailability of stock; the Customer is then informed and any payment already made is refunded. Hush Puppies Belgium may also refuse an order from a Customer who has failed to pay a previous order or with whom a dispute is pending.
Prices and payment
Prices are stated in euros, including VAT. The applicable price is the one displayed on the website when the order is placed. Delivery costs are shown before the order is confirmed:
- Free delivery from €79 for Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg.
- Below €79: Belgium — €5.00 (home delivery) or €2.45 (pick-up point); the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg — €6.95.
Discounts apply only to the order for which they were granted and create no right to similar discounts on later orders. Orders can be paid by Bancontact, iDEAL, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Invoices are provided in electronic form only.
Delivery
Products are delivered to the address given by the Customer. Hush Puppies Belgium only delivers to addresses in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg. Indicative delivery times from acceptance of the order: 2 to 3 working days in Belgium, 3 to 5 working days for the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg. The Customer is informed if these times cannot be met. If delivery has not taken place within 30 days, the Customer may cancel the order and is refunded in full.
Transfer of risk and ownership
The risk of loss or damage passes to the Customer when the Products are delivered. Ownership passes to the Customer upon full payment of the price, including delivery costs.
Right of withdrawal and returns
The Customer has fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of the Products to withdraw from the purchase, without having to give a reason. Products must be returned in their original condition: undamaged, unworn, unwashed, clean, in their original box and packaging, with their labels. Hush Puppies Belgium may refuse or reduce the refund of a Product that has been worn or damaged beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics.
To return a Product, the Customer requests a return from their customer account (“Return items”) or by e-mail to hello@hushpuppies.be stating the order number. Hush Puppies Belgium then sends a return label by e-mail. A flat contribution of €1.99 per return towards return costs is deducted from the refund. If the Customer uses another carrier, the costs and risks of the return are borne by the Customer; a tracked service is recommended. Full details: Returns and refunds.
Refund
After receipt and inspection of the returned Products, Hush Puppies Belgium refunds the Customer using the payment method used for the order, less the €1.99 return contribution, within five (5) working days and in any case within fourteen (14) days of the withdrawal. Depending on the bank, the amount may take a few additional days to appear.
Faulty or incorrect products
If a Product is damaged or does not correspond to the order, the Customer is invited to contact hello@hushpuppies.be within 48 hours of receipt, with photos. The return is then at the expense of Hush Puppies Belgium, without the €1.99 contribution, and the Customer is refunded in full or the Product is replaced, subject to availability.
Legal guarantee
Independently of the right of withdrawal, all Products benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity of two (2) years provided for by Belgian law (articles 1649bis and following of the Civil Code). This guarantee covers lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery; it does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by improper care or use.
Liability
Hush Puppies Belgium cannot be held liable for indirect damage, nor for errors in photographs or texts that do not affect the essential characteristics of the Products. Its liability is in any case limited to the amount paid by the Customer for the order concerned, except in case of fraud or wilful misconduct, and without prejudice to the mandatory rights of consumers.
Force majeure
Hush Puppies Belgium is not liable where the performance of its obligations is prevented or delayed by force majeure (fire, flood, strike, failure of a supplier or carrier, or any other cause beyond its reasonable control). If the force majeure lasts more than thirty (30) days, either party may terminate the order in writing; any amount paid for Products not delivered is then refunded.

Personal data
Personal data are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018, as described in our privacy policy.
Intellectual property
Hush Puppies® and the basset hound logo are registered trademarks of their owner. The texts, photographs, visuals and layout of this website may not be reproduced without prior written permission, except for private use.
Severability and amendments
If a provision of these Terms is held invalid, the other provisions remain in force. Hush Puppies Belgium may amend these Terms at any time; the Terms applicable to an order are those published on the website on the day the order is placed.
Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, the Customer is invited to contact our customer service first. The Customer may also contact the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (www.consumerombudsman.be). Failing an amicable settlement, the courts of the judicial district of Walloon Brabant have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the consumer’s right to bring proceedings before the court of their place of residence.
